Terms of use
These terms apply to the Marketplace website and the Marketplace Android app. You accept them when you create an account or before you post anything, and again whenever a new dated version is published.
1. Your account
You need an account to post listings and photos, to send messages and to report. Give a real e-mail address you control and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what is done with your account.
Marketplace is for adults: you must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
2. What you post
Listings, photos, descriptions and messages stay yours. You allow Marketplace to store them, show your published listings and photos to everyone, and show your messages to the person you write to, for as long as needed to run the service and as described in the privacy policy.
Only offer real items and services that you are allowed to offer, with honest descriptions, prices and photos you have the right to use.
3. Content and behaviour that are not allowed
The following is not allowed in listings, photos, messages or reports:
- illegal items or services, including weapons, drugs, stolen goods, counterfeits and anything that needs a licence you do not have;
- sexual content, and any content that sexualises or endangers children;
- hate speech, harassment, threats, bullying or encouraging violence or self-harm;
- scams, fraud, phishing, fake listings, or asking for payment or personal data under false pretences;
- spam, misleading or repeated listings, and links to malware;
- other people's personal data, impersonating someone, or content that infringes someone's rights;
- trying to get around blocks, suspensions or the limits of the service.
4. Messages, blocking and reporting
Messages are between a buyer and a seller about one listing. Be respectful. You can block a person from a conversation: while a block is in place, neither of you can message the other or start a new conversation. You can report a listing, a conversation or a person; moderators review reports.
When a conversation is reported, moderators read it to review the report.
5. Moderation
Moderators may disable listings, close conversations and suspend accounts that break these terms. A suspended account cannot sign in. Every moderation decision is recorded with a reason.
6. Buying and selling
Marketplace does not process payments and is not a party to any deal. Buyers and sellers agree on price, payment and delivery between themselves. Never pay in advance to someone you do not trust, and report anything suspicious.
7. Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time, in the app (Account → Delete account) or on the website's account deletion page. What is deleted and what is kept for a limited time is listed on that page and in the privacy policy.
8. Changes to these terms
Each version of these terms has a date. When a new version is published you will be asked to accept it before you post again.
9. The service as it is
Marketplace is provided as it is. The operator works to keep it available and safe, but cannot promise that it is always available or free of errors, and is not responsible for the items, services or behaviour of buyers and sellers, to the extent the law allows.
